The Lapel Button design is inspired by the powerful ancient healing symbol together with a heart

The heart lapel pin with the healing symbol was jointly designed by Rolf and Sonya. Rolf, a qualified electroplater from Switzerland with 50 years experience, saw the heart as the centre for love, forgiveness and healing. Sonya, who is part of the electroplating business, used the healing symbol in the heart’s centre to radiate this message out into the world.

uThe lapel button is made from brass, which is then electroplated in copper and nickel. The heart has a polished finish, whilst the healing symbol is frosted and sunken
uDimensions: 20mm X 20mm

uProudly South African, made by South Africans

We have created a lapel button for men and women to wear in demonstration of their intolerance and defiance of gender-based violence, as well as their personal commitment towards contributing to a healthy and safe society.

The greater the awareness that is generated, the greater the force of collective consciousness to change our dire reality and to promote our right to live in a society that supports the freedom and the well-being of all.

Our collective voice proudly states that we vow to protect that which is vulnerable, sacred, rare and beautiful.

We are encouraging local and international organisations to pledge their support to this pivotal cause.

We also urge governments and institutions of higher learning to participate in the visibility of this campaign, and the distribution this message with its call to action.

We partnered with the Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation, whose vision aligns with our own.

We will donate R20 from the sale of each lapel pin to the UYINENE MRWETYANA FOUNDATION in support of their mission and inspiring work that they are doing to end Gender Based Violence in our county in honor of Uyinene’s memory

To provide holistic legal and psychosocial support to victims of gender-based violence and to facilitate systemic change through strategic engagement with state actors and the communities in which we serve.

Violence Prevention

Through community workshops and outreach initiatives, we seek to educate and empower individuals to challenge and change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to violence.

Integrated Response

By providing integrated legal and psychosocial support, LvA ensures that our client’s legal, emotional and psychological needs are met. LvA also works closely with local police and courts to improve the response of the justice system to gender-based violence.
